JUNIOR COMPETITION 2024

Grammar Windsor Juniors has teams from beginner to experienced and at all levels we work hard to provide an environment that is positive, challenging, supportive and fun.

Our club is run by volunteers. For our junior division we are extremely reliant on parents with limited support from older players from our youth and adult divisions.  If you would like to get involved we would love to have you on the team. 

Registrations for the 2024 Winter Season 

Teams are selected broadly according to skill, and will be entered in a grade of the competition appropriate to their combined abilities.  While we will try to keep friends together it can become complex if there is a large skill disparity and therefore can not guarantee it. We  commit to putting every player into a team.

Games are played on Saturday mornings at a range of venues around Auckland including South, West and Eastern suburbs but excluding the North Shore. Matches are umpired by volunteers.

Junior Season begins on Sat 4th May. There will be no regular matches on King’s Birthday Holiday, July school holiday and Matariki weekends. The final day of matches is late August.

 Season Fees 

  • Fees are inclusive of team uniform shorts and shirt, and an end-of-season team photo. 
  • They also cover the cost of turf hire for practices, AKHockey and NZHF fees, training equipment and goalkeeping gear.
  • Each player is expected to provide their own hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard and a pair of orange (GWHC colour) socks available to purchase through our website.

Our Junior fee is $280.

Fees are paid on confirmation of a team (following musters)

There is a $10 discount for the second child from the same family and $20 for any further children.

One single payment is simplest for all, however we accept staged payments if needed. Please contact our Treasurer on email via treasurer@grammarwindsor.org.nz. 

Training

Access to turf time before 8pm is a huge challenge for the club.

We are still finalising the details for our 2024 training turf times but for Yr 1-6 it is likely to be at AGS on Tuesday evening 5.30pm.  Depending on the number of teams registered Yr 7-8 plays may train at Dio on Monday with our Youth teams 7.30-8.30pm 

Uniforms

Team uniforms will be distributed at the first team training session at the beginning of Term 2. They are returned to the manager at the last game of the season or at prize giving.

Players will need to purchase their own pair of the club's orange socks which are available through the SHOP page of this site.
